| Justin Rian, where the hell are you? You haunt my thoughts, dreams, and fantasies, but never are you a concrete figure I can find. It's been five years that I've longed for you, but never have you given me hope. If you're not going to come along, stop controlling my life! No, I don't mean that. As much as I tend to curse your name, I don't want you to leave me in spirit. You're the only thing that makes me smile or gives me hope nowadays. I pray for some serendipitous moment when we bump into each other on a street corner and somehow just know our lives are complete. In reality, it is more plausible that we would meet again years after settling down. You'd be with your gorgeous wife and sons, and I'd be with Jeremiah, but without children. There's something that kills me - He won't give me children, and I'll never get to be a mother. You wouldn't deny me that, would you? I want boys, three of them. Okay, maybe one girl in there is okay too. Looks like I'll be rocking myself to sleep for the rest of my life. | | |
| This blog will be no more very soon, but a new one is in the works, if anyone is interested. I'll be playing catch up for awhile, so when it's up and running I will post the address if anyone is interested. | | |
| Well, my my my! Over the last 4 or 5 days, I just couldn't get on to update because my computer decided to hate me, but here I am! So after having to hack into my computer, I suppose I'll just summarize what I've been doing/ thinking of/ drawing inspiration from.
Numero Uno? CORSETS! And also Dita Von Tesse, because she's almost as synonymous with tight lacing as Kathie Jung and Ethyl Granger! I've really learned so so so much about corsetry in the last few days, I wish I could take an actual class on this. There will be more coming on this soon, but for now, just enjoy pictures of the lovely Dita!

Numero Dos? Halloween! I'm just so excited about Halloween this year, my fiance and I are going to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time! This is where my first idea of corsets came up, and I've dreamed up a couple of pretty nice costumes for both RHPS and the Exotic-Erotic ball, a big Halloween party, which is technically over-21, but his DJ company is putting it on, so I got an invite!
The corset that inspired it all:
I found it on a site called OrchardCorset that has a youtube account and I quickly watched all 60-odd videos they provided. This is a discontinued style, so it's on sale, but I loved it at first sight!
After dreaming a bit, I went on amazon and quickly co-ordinated things for my outfit:
 Fingerless gloves...
 Rough-top fishnets...
Garter belt (will be black, but this one)....
 Uneven lace petticoat...
  Leather platform sandals...
 Pretty little feather/flower hair adornment...
Does anyone know the look I'm going for yet? Here is my idea (both mine and my fiance's outfits):

Got it now?
If you said my inspiration was the So You Think You Can Dance routine by Courtney and Mark to "The Garden" by Mirah, choreographed by Sonya Tahek, you're right!

Yes, it's been an interesting week. I'm still hungering for more corsetry knowledge. For now, I'll just have to dream, but soon, that green corset will be mine! | | |
| I found myself with quite a bit to do and had to neglect blogging. This is just how the beginning of the school year goes for me. Tuesday had me attending 5 and a half hours of class compared to my 2 and a half on Mondays and Wednesdays. In addition to that, I had 2 meetings to sell various "clickers" I used for classes last year, one to buy books from a girl for another class, a trip to spend $165 at the bookstore, and also a trip to Dixon (our rec center on campus) for a nice hard workout. Haha.. boy was I sweaty after that, I haven't worked out hard for awhile. I did 1 hr total on an elliptical and an arc trainer. Then Wednesday found me trying to acquire books again. Last night I also had a nice long chat with my mom. I've been so lonely lately, and it's nice to talk to someone.
Also, I somehow found time to start watching a series of interviews with Marge Champion, and by herself, she's so much more amazing than I knew. Of course, when she was famous, she was famous with Gower, so you didn't get to see just her. It's very interesting. Just a couple of fun facts: Her father owned a dancing school in Hollywood, and he was famous in that right, her first job was as the motion model for Snow White at Disney, she was married to Artie Babbit before she married Gower, and her birthday is Sept 2. Yes, the woman is 91 and she still dances, she says, every single day. She's just so amazing!

| I felt so collegiate (mid-century, of course) walking to class in my smart cobalt blue skirt, black and white sailor shirt, and black velvet pumps. Unfortunately, my dance class ruined all the curls in my hair! So I had to run errands later with a bun in. It was my roommate's birthday and I had to go to the bank. I caught up on Mad Men today, and let me tell you, watching it last night without watching the previous four episodes was so confusing! Never will I do a thing like that again. I've been using a website called Uloop to sell my books and clickers from classes last year, and it's been working so well for me! I've sold 1 of my 2 books, and am meeting 2 other people tomorrow to sell both clickers! Also, I'll be buying a few books I found on there for so much cheaper than amazon or the bookstore was offering them! Next year/term I swear I will get on procuring books sooner!
There isn't much of a theme today, but I'll try to find one. I'm determined to enjoy my last few months as a teenager, as I will be turning 20 in January. I'm very excited. I've had a great time being young, and I still believe you're young well into your 30's or beyond. Everything depends upon one's mindset.

The next is the lovely Anne Francis, as the infamous cigarette-smoking, film noire-esque sweater girl. This is the look that I'll be trying to accomplish overall for the fall term. I have many sweaters, but I need so many more, and I have skirts just perfect for those. Now.. if only I had a bullet bra lying around somewhere.

Finally, winter will be my Katharine stage of dress. But for now, the inspiration is her hair. It's so beautiful but still has a tomboyish quality, like she doesn't really care, it's just how she wakes up in the morning!
